Unfortunately, it is that time in the semester that we approach the end. It is the final quarter, the last inning, the home stretch, the [insert sports metaphor of choice here]. The end of each semester gives us a lot to look back on but also a lot more to look forward to. New possibilities. New frontiers. New Guardians. We thereby warmly welcome you all to our Biannual Hume’s Theory of Induction Party where Lord Empress Josephine, UPA President, will be knighting new members into the rank of UPA Guardians with the UPA Sword of Promised Victory aka. The UPA Excalibur. We will also be officially announcing your New E-board for next year!
We’ll be celebrating with mochinut (literally “absolute cinema” but donuts) and drinks along with fun games and a couple of surprises! You definitely don’t want to miss this philosophers! Join us in the UPA Ballroom (CDSB62) on Friday 25th April at 5pm for a fun, phenomenal, philosophical closeout to the semester!
PS: We’d love to see everyone dressed to the nines in honor of our new Guardians. Remember, the best dressed philosopher gets non-exclusive bragging rights!
PPS: Fun fact: you might be familiar with Hume’s Theory of Induction, but did you know that there was also a Faraday’s Law of Induction?! [collective gasp] It states that the magnitude of the EMF in a circuit is directly proportional to the rate of change of magnetic flux linkage. Bust that line out at a party and you’ll be the Romeo to every STEM kid’s Juliet.
See you around, philosophers,
THE UPA E-BOARD
